[LINK] Is spam starting to be brought under control?

Gentle Linkers,

Another month, another update of my almost-scientific graph of the
rise of spam.

The amount of spam I've received seems to have flattened out somewhat
during December and January -- though it's still running at more than
5500 messages a month.

I've no idea why this might be, although I'm speculating that it's a
seasonal thing: even spammers have a pre-Christmas advertising spree
and then have a slowdown after the holiday season.

Or could it be that measures to combat spam are starting to turn the tide?
