These days email is being used to replace HR functions and to improve
communications with staff. It allows enterprises to flatten the
organisational structure (code for - fire middle managers). A PC and
network is cheaper than a couple of layers of managers in a large
organisation.
Does it work? Ask those people who have lost their sense of belonging and
who don't feel appreciated, understood or valued.
