[LINK] Google versus the phone book?

Bingo. The penny drops. Thanks Kerry... 

...in other words, what I see in the local press is people importing an idea
from US analysts, but not noticing what's different about Australia... 

And (noting the message from Mark Nearhos), Google is aggregating America's
fragmented phone books ... which may not work as a business model in
Australia since we're not running ten different directory outfits.
