Lots of things have changed since the early 20th century, so I'm not sure
that it's a good reference point for anything.
But I'm more interested in the general argument of people working longer
hours that they did <some years ago>.
Is there any real evidence for this?
Do shop assistants work longer, do bus drivers, do the guys who fix cars in
service stations?
Small business owners certainly work long hours (if you include the
paperwork at night), but do they work much longer hours than small business
people did twenty years ago? I doubt it.
Lawyers keen to climb the ladder work long hours, but is this different from
the past?
Just a pet peeve of mine, and not really on topic for Link.
