I'm about to replace the old desktop I still run here. One decision involves a choice between an Intel 2.0 GHz Celeron processor or an Intel 2.4 GHz Pentium IV processor. I understand the Celeron is a less complex version of the Pentium (e.g. with a smaller memory look-ahead cache), and I'm told its only advantage is that it's cheaper.
Does the Link Institute have any view about this? Speed is hardly an issue - 2.0 GHz is far and away more than I need. However I want to build a dual-boot system which runs Debian Linux and MS Windows 98SE. (And thanks to all those Linkers who contributed to the recent discussions on Linux!)
I'll be grateful for any clues....
