But it never did any good!

The bottom line is, people in Government aren't there to ensure a smooth 
running country with all the best possible advantages.  THey are there for 
"status" and "presumed" power that really doesn't exist.

I'd love to see MP's salaries cut to the "average" wage and "average perks" 
of the Average Australian.

After all, the AVERAGE Australian actually works just as many hours, spends 
just as much time away from the family and kids and gets a fraction of the 
benefits.

How many of our current politicians would actually settle for a $22,754 
GROSS income?

How many of our current politicians voted for a Parliamentary 
Superannuation for themselves that is equal to that of every other person 
in the country?  Yes, they voted that all NEW MP's suffer, but they didn't 
vote to suffer themselves.
