Gotta publish the credit! THANK YOU JAN!
Jan sent me the above and I read it about 6 minutes ago, probably 4
minutes. I went to the site, and yet another shining example of brilliant
software development.
Slick site! Like many of the "alternative use us instead of the Big Boys"
sites. Gotta lovem!
Downloaded the Print Driver and Converter, and the Editor (not installed yet.)
Installed the Print Driver, and it ASKED me if I wanted to DOWNLOAD the
Converter and install it. I'd already downloaded it (and given it a
different name to the default so maybe it couldn't find it?) so said no.
Installed the converter manually.
Went to my Access PMS interface, pulled up one of the BIG reports that
normally prints really small but hasn't in ages. Printed it and Voila, a
45K multipage document!
Even better, it actually took the REPORT Title and used that as the file
name. Now I'll have to go and rewrite my Report Title routines to include
relevant date, production and sequence identification so I don't have to
change the names every time I print one! For now I no longer need to
TYPE a name each time a Print!
Decided to write this email then though "Ahhh the contract! Lets have a go
at the 8 pager" which is currently a 14 MB PDF and useless. The Word
Document is only 138K.
WOAH BABY! A Perfectly formatted PDF in less than 30 seconds and GUESS
WHAT! It's only 127K in size!
It also has Server/Share instructions which excited me preventing me from
the need of people using my PC every time they want to print reports - the
current situation. Now I just have to get around to attaching the server
again!
Now this is a piece of software like the few I find really useful I'll
register (for up to 25 users) and support without hesitation.
Now to go find someone who owes me money and borrow their credit card.
