because by licencing it under the BSD licence he can then grab it, lock 
it up and sell it.  This is the M$ (telnet, etc) and Apple (OSX) way, 
and suits the libertarian capitalist principles - grab what ever you can 
and abuse it for your own pecuniary purposes.
