Under "traditional" ticket sales the punter pays too much for a ticket from a scalper, but at least gets in to the show. In the new model punter pays too much for a ticket and doesn't get in. Scalper manages to sell the same ticket multiple times.
Part of the appeal of e-tickets is the convenience and efficiency of them. However, one of the ulterior objectives is to remove secondary markets for ticket sales.
Exactly who is the e-ticket arrangement supposed to benefit? Who does it actually benefit?
