In my Comp Sci honours year an ANU in 1986 one of the courses was based around
team work. One of the teams wrote a robot battle program as their team
project.
My robot "walnut" was one of the hardest to crack as it used the strategy of
hugging one of the walls, effectively halving its search area for targets.
Then others starting adding code to check along walls
Then I added code to run to another wall if shot at ...
another arms race.
