The page did its job: it got me to think.

Could this become a reality in the USA under either of The Patriot Act
or the Homeland Security Act?

More pertinently could the same be done this country under the aegis of
the proposed Anti-Terrorism legislation in light of current privacy
laws.

Who knows? Not until it is tested in court will we know.
