Look, Brogden stuffed up. It wasn't a hanging offence and there
are plenty of worse things he could have done. The issue is was
it in the public interest. And this is being debated as we
speak, and type.
Adam, your knowledge of the Red Cross issue is a far cry from
that told by Media Watch, who were contacted by someone who was
there. A larger issue is the poor quality of intellectual debate
in this country. The SMH reporter spoke to, and interpreted the
response in his own way. See

Adam, you are completely wrong. The Red Cross did do the right
thing. It just shows you were taken for a ride. Hanging the
Telegraph out to dry, and letting the SMH off the hook is poor
play.
It is the role of the media to investigate. They are not a court
of law. But they do only serve the public interest when they
report factually. In the case of Brogden, there is no allegation
of the reporting being inaccurate.
And Howard, what was the motive of the Telegraph? Maybe it was
to maximise sales. But surely they are entitled to print the
allegations, and quite strong ones too, on the alleged
impropriety of the alternative leader of NSW.
