Do you really think anyone in Singapore is going to be reassured by
the government saying they've "blocked 100 sites"?
I reckon the Australian government's approach, where they don't
actually block anything (at least from overseas) but make a lot of
noise about issuing a small number of takedown notices, is probably
more effective in misleading people into thinking they've "made the
Net safe".
But it confuses me that you are lauding Singapore for providing an
illusion of safety without any substance. I had always thought you
were concerned about "protecting the children" and didn't realise
you were just trying to improve the rate of net usage!
