Depends which "us" you mean. :)

That said, whether it's something we like or not, Microsoft currently
provides a significant proportion of the software infrastructure which runs
this planet. Because of that, and because of their significant market- and
mind-share, they'll continue to be a major player for some time to come.

So, since they're one of The Big Boys, I reckon that "we" (for some value of
"we") have an interest in how they conduct themselves, how they change in
the future, and how they communicate with us.

Or am I mis-reading the question?
