Roger - having been off the Link list for some time Tony alerted me to this
theme and persuaded me to sign up again - it's good to see that there's a
high volume of traffic still!! I have no early email files left, but I did
come across a printed copy of an email I sent to Link on 24 November 1993 on
the topic of "National Networked Applications Strategy" which was my report
of the outcomes of a meeting that I had organised in Melbourne on 8 November
2003 in conjunction with the VALA Conference. Amongst those listed as
present were Geoff Huston and Peter Saalmans from AARNet, Brian Dennehy from
CAUDIT, Tony Barry from ANU, Kerry Webb and myself from NLA, Mike Staindl
from AIIA/Ferntree Lea Giles-Peters from CSIRO, Neil McLean, Geoff Payne,
Linda O'Brien, Linda Heron, and Howard Amos/Janette Wright from ILANET. This
led on to network connections between NLA's ABN members and AARNet but my
records are negligible now!
Regards, Eric Wainwright
