That's a annualised profit of 1.75%. Hmmm.

The sunny-side-up would be that investors are happy
with the capital gains of their shareholdings, so Red Hat
are taking the opportunity to increase their development
costs (ie, invest in future returns).

Less sunny interpretations are possible. Which is why the
background to the numbers is as important as the numbers
themselves.
