It's a pity that it's not working out-of-the-box, but it's been great
to have such a popular model of machine sold worldwide. There's usually
a way to get this sort of thing working.

You may be able to get the NextG connection running by loading the driver
("sudo modprobe airprime") and then setting up the connection in the
usual way (same as Vodaphone or Three). Otherwise:

Unfortunately, until ASUS starts selling machines with that kind of
update, you can still walk into Harvey Norman and buy an Linux Eee PC 701,
but there's a misleading little note in Harvey Norman's spec sheet
that says that these Telstra 3G modems aren't supported.
