This is over 3G? Those are some crazy round trip times, more akin to a
satellite connection or a couple of laps of the globe.

Which 3G provider is this? Just so I know who to avoid...

EU should be 200-300ms depending on the path taken but not taking into
account any 3G / last mile latency.
