Puripuri & apu

Help!
Where does "puripuri" originate? In the Torres Strait they swear it's from
their western language Kala Lagaw Ya. Mihalic doesn't list it and I can't
find it in Muhlhausler's work.
Where do people say "apu" for "to give a piggyback to (especially a small
child)". Snukal's dictionary of TS Creole says it's from a TS word for
mother, but we use it in Western Highlands. Who else does?
