but I heard it used at tne market by wider language groups. I can

<font face="arial" size=2>I was also interested in the use of the
"old" word for pineapple - "ananas" - by the people
near the West Papua border. I do believe I hadn't heard it used at
all in the highlands after about 1963. "Mak" was another
word that had all but disappeared in the early 60s, and seems to be well
and truly gone today. <br>
