<p>Dear Pacific Studies Colleagues and Students,<br>
</p>
<p>May I draw your attention to the 16 October (next Tuesday)
morning session "France in the Pacific" in next week's <a
href="http://pacificinstitute.anu.edu.au/events/seminar_details.php/event_details.php?searchterm=cap_397763027&semyear=2012"
target="1">Pacific Symposium</a>. <br>
</p>
<div>We do hope that many of you will be able to come and join in
discussion for this session (we will have two 30 minutes blocks
for discussion). This is a first attempt to present to the ANU and
wider Pacific research community the political evolution of the
former "French Territories", now "French Pacific Collectivities".
We believe this is a critically important dialogue and would
welcome your participation (there is no need to RSVP for this
session). If we can get a good turn out, we may be able to create
new opportunities for more in-depth collaboration between Pasifika
ANU students and students from New Caledonia, Wallis-Futuna and
French Polynesia.</div>
<div><br>
Lunch on site will be provided and followed in the afternoon by
another session on "Bilateral dialogues" in which the High
Commissioners of Pacific countries and several European
Ambassadors will discuss expectations on both sides for future
cooperation?</div>
<div><br>
Hope to see you next Tuesday at the ANU Centre for Pacific
Studies, on Liversidge Street.</div>
<div><br>
All best wishes</div>
