<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">The Hank Nelson Memorial Endowment was established by family and friends of the late Pacific historian Hank Nelson to honour his memory and his commitment to Papua New Guinea.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">The endowment now seeks to fund a $1,000 AUD prize, to be awarded every two years, for the best Doctor of Philosophy thesis submitted by any student, internationally, on any aspect of Papua New Guinea’s
history or society. This shall be known as the Hank Nelson Memorial Award.</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">To be eligible for the Award, the submission must:</span></p>

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">1. Have been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy between 31 March 2016 and 31 March 2018;

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">2. Be focussed on Papua New Guinea; and

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif; color:black">3. Be at least 60,000 words in length.</span></p>
