[R2U.announce] cycling update

Dear Cyclists,

A quick update on cycling stuff.

1. The Heart Foundation, Heart week lunchtime ride is on the 4th May, please see the attached flyer.

2. The bike mainteance workshops are very popular they will be going ahead next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, between 5.30 and 7pm at the Rideshop in braddon, if you havent regsitered yet please do so ASAP. (we dont have any spots left for the advanced session of Thursday night).

3. We now have more lights, they are Cateyes, not Roadtoads, but they are still $30 (very cheap). And as usual we have helmets and locks as well.

4. There have been some incidents regarding cycling safety recently, the first relates to the new speed bump on North Rd just near the entrance to Barry Drive, apparently some cyclists have been caught unawares by it at night time and have come off. Please be aware of it. Also there have been some problems between motorists and cyclists at pedestrian crossing (cyclists zooming across these and freaking car drivers out). So please take care at crossings. You are actually supposed to walk your bike across them.

5. There is a 12 hour endurance race coming up in May, the event is at Eastern Creek raceway, thousand of cyclists will be riding around and around and around all day.
