Hi all,
As many of you are probably aware, Comcare no longer covers staff for
accidents while they are commuting to and from campus. However, you may
not all be aware that there are a number of insurance options for
cyclists. I've had a quick review of some of the policy options and
provided some links below.
Pedal Power
Membership with Pedal Power entitles you to free insurance cover through
cyclecover. In addition to injury and public liability, the policy will
also cover you for lost income if you have to take time off work (80% of
income, up to $800 p/week, must exceed 7 days).
A yearly membership will cost you $60 per year for an individual or $100
for household.
For more details on the cover see -

Bicycle Victoria
For the purpose of comparison, Bicycle Victoria provides a similar type
of cover as a freebie with membership. It also covers loss of income but
the payment details differ from the Pedal Power cover. Membership costs
$90 per year ($80 for concession) and is not restricted to residents of
Victoria.

NRMA
The NRMA provides 'Transport Accident Insurance' which covers bicycle
accidents involving a motor vehicle - will not cover solo stacks or
prangs with other bikes.
