[R2U.announce] FW: Anzac Parade roadworks

Hi all,

Please see notice below.

Also, apologies to those who have been inconvenienced by the cut-off of
access to the Copland bike shelter - I wasn't given any notice and was
as surprised as the users. The shelter will be inaccessible until some
time in Feb I'm told. If anyone hasn't yet retrieved their bike from the
shelter, please contact ben.williams at anu.edu.au to arrange a time to get
access. Unfortunately, there are no obvious alternatives in that area -
I can keep digging around if anyone is particularly worried about
locking their bike outside in the meantime.

Cheers,

Environment Officer - Transport

Subject: Anzac Parade roadworks

Please circulate the following message:

Avoid Anzac Parade

Traffic arrangements on Anzac Parade changed from 3 December 2008 when
the road pavements will be reconstructed. The work will be done in three
separate stages from November to the following April. Bike riders should
avoid riding along Anzac Parade when temporary traffic arrangements are
in place. Construction work will be on one of the carriageways at a time
and it will be closed to traffic. The other carriageway will have
two-way traffic (single lane in each direction) with a concrete median
barrier. Riding your bicycle in those traffic lanes may be unpleasant
and there are acceptable alternative routes. If your trip would normally
include Anzac Parade, please (in your own interests) avoid riding along
Anzac Parade and ride through Reid or Campbell instead.

Reconstruction
