Hi folks,

 

There has been a huge response since I sent out the last email about
this. If you'd like to volunteer to help out with the bike count there
are still four spots left in:

 

*        Latham;

*        Palmerston;

*        Ngunnawal; and 

*        Isabella Plains/Richardson

If you're not sure who to nominate as the organisation to receive $50
for your participation can you please consider nominating either:

 

*        Pedal Power ACT

Or

*        ANU Ride2Uni Program (this money will then go towards catering
and prizes for ANU cycling breakfasts)

Hi folks,

 

The Bicycle Network is looking for volunteers to help with the Canberra
section of the national Super Tuesday bike count Tue 6 March. There are
close to 50 sites in the ACT and they would like to assign at least one
volunteer counter for each site (to see map of the ACT sites - 
http://www.bv.com.au/bike-counts/gmaps/joinbikecount.html?ll=-35.282155,
149.128642&st=act&z=10).  

 

If you volunteer on behalf of a group or organisation they will donate
$50 to the group or org - so the more volunteers a group can get the
more money they will receive. Find out more about the event and watch

Hi,

I coordinate an annual bike count event called Super Tuesday. This year,
Super Tuesday takes place on Tuesday 6 March from 7am-9am.  

As Australia's largest visual bike count, Super Tuesday provides
participating councils with reliable annual figures of bicycle commuters
and their movements.  

The count is commissioned by local councils and conducted by volunteer
counters.  Your council has commissioned us to conduct the count in your
local area for the first time and we are now recruiting volunteer
counters.  As a reward for your work, you can nominate your Bicycle User
Group, club or school to receive a $50 donation, making this an
excellent fundraising opportunity.  Last year, Whitehorse Cyclists
registered 48 members and earned $2400!

Now in its sixth year, Super Tuesday is a very popular event with our
supporters. Counters enjoy the experience and value the fundraising
opportunity. So get your family, friends, colleagues and neighbours
involved too!
