New Family route - still something for everyone
In its 14th year, the Big Canberra Bike Ride now offers more route options to cater for all - from beginners to the more seasoned riders. 

 The 28km family ride has been changed to take in some of the shared path networks that make Canberra such a fantastic city to cycle in. The cycling enthusiasts that take on the 68km and 105km rides will experience the iconic cycling roads around Cotter and Uriarra,

This has always been one of the highlights of the year for Pedal Power and Canberra’s cycling community and this year we wanted to highlight some of the excellent shared path network we have around Canberra,” Pedal Power Executive Officer John Armstrong said.

With our new family route, riders get to experience the beautiful sections of Lake Burley Griffin as well as enjoy the fantastic cycling facility we have out at Stromlo,” Mr Armstrong said.

Entertainment for all the family 
The Event Village this year is going to bigger and better than ever. Those seeking refreshment will be well catered for with hot food and snacks, connoisseur coffee and gourmet ice cream. There will also be live music, a huge jumping castle, face painting and if you are feeling adventurous you could even try your hand at riding a Penny Farthing.

Help the Heart Foundation continue to save lives from heart attack 
beneficiary of the Big Canberra Bike Ride incorporating Amy’s Ride.
The Heart Foundation’s Warning Signs of Heart Attack <http://pedalpower.us1.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=cd49583521955ac807926ea74&id=11b355d321&e=3904419924>  campaign aims to save lives by informing people about the warning signs and encouraging them to respond quickly by calling Triple Zero. Each year around 55,000 Australians suffer a heart attack (that’s one every 10 minutes) and claims 10,335 lives (an average of 28 each day).
We need your support to keep this campaign going in the ACT in 2012 and beyond and together we can continue to help save lives. Please help us raise $50,000 in the Big Canberra Bike Ride incorporating Amy’s Ride.

Individuals who raise more than $500 on Everyday Hero <http://pedalpower.us1.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=cd49583521955ac807926ea74&id=cc12a7b6c9&e=3904419924>  for the Heart Foundation in the Big Canberra Bike Ride incorporating Amy’s ride will be entitled to a FREE massage at the Heart Foundation marquee at the completion of their ride.
Individuals must achieve or exceed the $500 fundraising target by March 18, 2012 at 10am to be eligible for the massage
