MISSING SUPERVISORY PANEL INFORMATION
A major Student 21 data integrity exercise was coordinated by Nathan
Asher in 2006 and in 2007 with a view to ensuring that complete
supervisory panel information was recorded for all HDR students. Missing
records were reduced to a relatively small number, but with the
enrolment of the 2008 cohort the number of students with missing data
has increased again.
A report has been sent to all College Student Administrators showing

Administration Manager will be in touch to ensure the missing panels are
updated. We will continue to provide this information on an ongoing
As you are aware, the University's policy: Code of Practice -
Supervision in Higher Degrees by Research
rees_by_Research.asp?tab=1> specifies the timelines in which
supervision must be finalised - specifically:
Within 1 month of commencement Confirmation of
supervisor and supervisory panel chair
Within 3 months of commencement Confirmation of
supervisory panel membership
In many cases the supervisory panel may have been confirmed but not
recorded on Student 21. Student 21 is the University approved mechanism
for recording such information and it is vitally important for
reporting, funding and data integrity purposes that Student 21 panels
are complete and up to date.
UAC simulations are running at the moment for semester 2, 2008. A

Services and Admissions staff was held this morning to coordinate the
UAC Admissions process. The live run will take place 10 am Thursday 26
June with offers available to applicants on 30 June.
Admissions staff have been working closely with Accommodation Services
to coordinate offers with available accommodation. Accommodation
Services report accommodation for semester 2 will again be "tight".
Their applications for accommodation close 26 June and already finding
places particularly first year guarantee for undergraduates will be
Application Close Dates
