<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Hi all,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>This is the revised plan for Batemans Bay this
weekend. There are spare seats in cars if you want to come!</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Given t</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>he small
numbers going to Batemans this year (10-14 people and 4-5 boats) there will be
no supervised </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>beginners social sailing. That
doesn't mean you won't have a great time if you come. Each year there
are opportunities for beginners to race even if you have never
sailed before and there are people going just to hang out at the beach who
won't mind the extra company.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>W</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>e will drive down
Saturday morning and those racing will be busy with that for much of the day.
Accomadation is tents in a caravan park by the beach from which you rig and
launch the boats. </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>That night we go to a
restaurant within walking distance that is always packed out with
heaps of sailors. After dinner ANU has a tradition of having the biggest fire
and the biggest </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>beach party </FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2>which ends up attracting sailors from other clubs and
going until the early hours of the morning!</FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>
Sunday involves sleeping in until you have to get up for racing and then
going home as soon as the regatta is over and you pack up (should be
by 4pm). For those who want to go for fun you get to participate
in the social events but will need to keep yourselves occupied while the
racing is going on. Keeping occupied should be easy given we are at the coast
and there is heaps of interesting stuff to do (or you could just lie on the
beach).</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If you are a beginner who wants to race there is a
good chance you will get a spot but I can't promise anything. While some
beginners are racing with experienced ANU sailors we don't have enough
experienced sailors to take </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>every
beginner sailing. </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>On the
day there is always people from other clubs looking for
crews. </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>Last year for example recent course
graduates got crewing positions on yachts. This simply invovled sitting on
the yacht providing ballast and did not require any sailing
experience.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>If you want to come you need to sort out your own
camping gear such as sleeping bag, mat and preferably a
tent. </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2><FONT face=Arial size=2>Jason is going
down Friday at 4pm and has room in his car (give him a
call on 0414 </FONT><FONT face=Arial size=2>853 865). </FONT><FONT
face=Arial size=2>There is also seats in the cars going down Saturday
morning (give me a call on 0404 292 691).</FONT></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>In terms of cost you need to pay for tent site, a
share of petrol to give to your driver and whatever you eat and drink. I would
anticipate that petrol and tent site would be between $25 - $40.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>cheers</FONT></DIV>
