<DIV>This weekend is a big one for the club with plenty to get involved with.</DIV>

<DIV>The boat shed will open at 12:30 for the YMCA races. This week it is an alternate course and the forecast is for strong winds. Entry is $12.</DIV>

<DIV>Sunday</DIV>
<DIV>Open Day, Beginners Course and TropFest</DIV>
<DIV>The shed will open at noon for Open Day, with a BBQ. The boats will be available until 2pm when the beginners course starts. Come down and meet our new members and people interested in joining.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>At 2pm the beginners course will start. The course is fully booked (we had to turn people away) so it will be busy. No matter what level you are at, helping at a beginners course helps you improve your sailing. Anyone interested in a powerboat license can do their practical training while the course is on.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The course will run for the next three Sundays and Wednesdays finishing with a coast trip to Wallagoot Lake in Bournda National Park 12-14 March.</DIV>

<DIV>TropFest Short Film Festival</DIV>
<DIV>I'm heading to Tropfest after the beginner's course. Feel free to join me for a couple of quiet beers (bring a picnic, a chair or a blanket) for a fun evening of fantastic short films.</DIV>

<DIV>Try Sharpie Day: 26 February</DIV>
<DIV>Sharpie Day at the YMCA Sailing Club including free entry for Sharpies. Sharpies are big fast boats that can really fly, but are complicated to sail. Contact me if you are interested in giving it a go (places are limited).</DIV>

<DIV>AGM and Committee</DIV>
<DIV>The Sailing Club is all about participation - the more you get involved the better you sail and the more fun you have. The best way to get involved with the club - have input into the program and decide what equipment to buy - is to get involved with the committee (I've attached some information about the committee roles and what they involve.) Fresh ideas are always welcome, so send your nominations to me, or if you're not sure how you might best contribute, then drop me a line and we can talk about it.</DIV>
