Hi ANU and Canberra activists,

This Friday, World Kyoto Day, is the launch of an exciting new group- The
Australian Youth Climate Coalition. The idea of the coalition is to have a
diverse range of already established youth organisations come together and
take a unified stance on the climate change issue. It has its roots in a
summit that took place in late November last year in Melbourne, wherein
representatives from a great number of groups (Oaktree, UNYA, Australian
Students for the Environment Network, Cycle for Sustainability etc) came
together to discuss the vision for the coalition and draft a youth
declaration on climate change.

Anyway this e-mail has a number of purposes that I need your help for:
-	first, it would be great to get your organisations to sign up to the
declaration and become members of the coalition.
-	I’m responsible for organising an event for this Friday’s launch in
Canberra. This involves organising the delivery of the declaration to all
our local federal MPs. I thought it would be great to have a bit of a bike
troupe traversing Canberra to deliver these.
-	Also, on Friday I’m hoping to have a public launch in Canberra. Either a
bbq at ANU, or more ambitiously, something at Garema place or even
parliament. I have to act fast on these ideas and publicise them in O-week
and beyond if anyone but has an epiphany of inspiration please contact me!
-	I’m being sent posters on Monday to put up publicising the coalition and
the website, which is officially up and running on Thursday, so if anyone
wishes to be an old-time activist postering with me you’re more than welcome
-	On ANU market day (Wednesday) I’m going to put up some info about the
AYCC. Come and have a chat to me about it there! I’ll be hijacking the end
of the Law Students for Social Justice stall.

To find out more about the AYCC and read the declaration:

Thanks everyone and hope to see you this week,
