Dear ANU Zero Emissions Announce list,

Since our General Meeting (minutes attached) we have ratified a
constitution, held a great seminar, had two articles published in
Woroni and gotten several projects seriously under way. As Big Kev
might have said had he been concerned about climate change: "I'm
excited!"

***Fortnightly meeting tomorrow (Monday)***

Tomorrow (Monday the 12th) at 4pm in the Students' Association
Conference Room we are having our next fortnightly meeting. Up for
discussion will be:

* No Incandescents Left Behind search days – making them
happen. (Ramana)
* Picking dates for screening An Inconvenient Truth and "Who Killed
the Electric Car?" (Josh)
* Getting our next seminar going – creating a list of known
entertaining speakers. (Dan)
* The rapidly growing Burgmann Green group - creating a model
and resources for other halls/collages to use. (Burgie crew)
* Great Climate Change Debate - choosing what form it will take. (Rob)
* Meeting with ANUgreen on Wednesday at 1pm (all invited). Specifics
of improving and promoting the GreenOffice/Lab program.
* Social event - setting an evening and a locale this weeks - perhaps
the unibar, uni house or a pool hall for drinking and talking? (Bindu)
* Any other ideas you want to turn into reality!

Couldn't get into Andrew Glikson's seminar because the theatre was
full? Maybe you had a lecture on? No problem! All of our events are

***Executive 2007***

The following executive has been elected to help coordinate the
Society this year. While having a caretaker and administrative role,
the executive does not 'control' the Society. Everyone is just as free
to use their initiative and be independent as they were before we had
an executive.

***Constitution***

The ratified constitution is attached. It lists the aims and objectives
of the Society as to:

* Work with all in the university to reduce the net greenhouse gas
emissions associated with the ANU to zero, including electricity
consumption, travel, product use, heating and cooling and gas
combustion.

* Inform all involved with the university about the threat of climate
change and empower them to reduce their contribution to it.

* Inform the community about possible government policies to reduce
climate change but not to endorse or promote any particular political
party.

***Website, Art, Design and Marketing***

We are reworking our website and want to have a clean 'front page'. Do
 you have the awesome arts skills to create a simple yet striking front
page that shows who we are, links you off to important parts of the
website and contains a visual representation of why climate change is
such an important concern? Then create a 460 pixel wide image and send
it in! Get in contact with Rob for more details.

We are also seeking artists, marketers and designers to work on our
posters and visual design. Our latest draft creations by Jemima Fort are
attached. If you want to join Jemima and others then contact
u4223487 at anu.edu.au.
