Hi everyone,
There is a meeting tomorrow at 4pm at ANUSA as per usual, but more
importantly I'm currently trying to organise some people to attend the
swell-looking 'Switched On' conference from ANU. A handful of people
are definitely already going up but it will be a fantastic event so
check out the details and get your form in soon so you don't miss out.
The final deadline is this Wednesday, so please get in contact with me
(0401232877) or Emma Keff (0431444802), one of the organisers, to talk
about going up. Find out more on www.switchedon2007.com .

* Please pass this on through relevant Canberra networks * (apologies
for cross-posting!)
Hi Canberra folk,
This is a final call-out for Canberra people to make the trip to the
Blue Mountains next Thursday (18th) for the Switched On conference.
The Canberra crew will be catching a Murrays bus together from
Jolimont at 7am on Thursday the 18th, and then meeting everyone else
at Sydney Central to take the train up to Katoomba together (or if you
have to come later please make your own way!).
Read on for general encouragement to attend and get those forms in.
I'll attach the program here- have a look! (-:

We're very excited about the conference, if you haven't yet, check out

energy, and the communities you're involved in so come and join us at
the conference!
If you're having trouble coming up with the rego fee or transport
money, we have some subsidies available, just send us an email
outlining your reasons for needing a subsidy and we will do our best
to try and help.
Stay tuned to our website for more information about getting to the
conference and our safer spaces and wellbeing policy.
See you in the Blue Mountains!

Second Walk Against Warming youth contingent organising meeting:
6pm Tuesday October 9 @ the Conservation Council offices near the ANU
(3 Childers St, Acton).
Hi Climate Change Campaigners,
At the first organising meeting we worked out the who, when, where,
how and why of the Walk Against Warming youth contingent. This coming
Tuesday we will have our second organising meeting to work out the
events of the day itself.
But first, a summary of what happened at the first meeting.
After hearing a bit about the upcoming (and amazing) Switched On
conference (www.switchedon2007.com) we moved onto discussing the youth
contingent and made the following decisions:
1. That it would start at the Rotunda in Glebe Park one hour before
the main community rally, before marching past Senator Gary Humphries
office and looping down Petrie Plaza to join up with the rest of the
Walk.
2. That it would have "Renewables, Not Coal, Not Nuclear", "The
World Can't Wait", "Don't Change The Climate, Change The System", and
"Vote With Your Feet, Get Out On The Street" as key themes.
3. That the next meeting would be held at 6pm on Tuesday October 9
at the Conservation Council, and that we would prepare publicity
material in the meantime.

I had hoped to include Blaker's presentation in this email but
unfortunately we are having some trouble getting to audio to work so
I'll forward it on next time around,
Thanks,
