Greetings ANU Zero Emissions Society!

Welcome back. If you'reuncontrollably excited about our potential to make real progress thisyear, here are some practical ways to distract yourself from explodingwith enthusiasm until we have a meeting in a couple of weeks. Pleaseget involved, because it's important we make an impression.
**** Upcoming Events ****1. Market Day2. Celebrate Sustainability Day3. Sustainability Action Planning Workshop MARKET DAYLet's get some more members! This Wednesday hundreds of uninewcomers and other as yet non-members will be kind enough to spend theday walking past our stall, specifically for our recruiting pleasure. For a couple of hours' sitting around meeting people now we can haveheaps of extra involvement for the rest of the year! A time investmentnot to be missed.
When: Wednesday 20th Feb  8am - 5pm (opens 9-4, but we need time to set up and un-set up)
 Where: Union Court and vicinity
How to take part:Help look after the stall for a bit. If you're interested, contact me with your preferences for times of day to do this.Help make the stallinteresting! Got any ideas for how to get people to walk over to andremember our stall? (Endangered species in a blender attached to anordinary power switch, inviting people to press it and appreciate whatthey are really doing when they flick a switch? Or something moremoral. Make suggestions! =D ).CELEBRATE SUSTAINABILITY DAYThis is going to be a huge day of fun events to celebrate the factthat we are actually making ANU greener. ANUgreen, the ANU EnviroCollective and the Sustainability LearningCommunity are hosting it, and ANU's environmentally related groups willall have their own stalls with activities, games and events. We shouldwork out what to run at our stall fairly soon. Someof the other activities also need volunteers to look after them, so ifyou're not feeling particularly loyal, help take care of the segway orthe bicycle powered smoothie maker. Even if you don't have time to helpwith anything on the day, come down in whatever brief temporal gap youdo have and celebrate!
When: Starts with the FREE Ride 2 Uni Breakfast from8am-10am, then continues with other events until 3pm, and ends in theevening sometime with a currently undetermined film.
Where: Union CourtWhy: To find out about and celebrate the progress we aremaking, and for people and groups with similar concerns to meet oneanother.
How to take part:1. Suggest and/or help organise relevant amusements to run at our stallor elsewhere. See below for an idea of what else is going on. ANUGreenare looking for more activities too, so suggest as many things as youcan!

2.Design posters for the stall. ANUGreen are willing to print two A3posters for each group, on the topic of who we are and what we do andwhy people should join etc. Feeling creative? Or just feeling likespending a few hours mindlessly fiddling with formatting to yourfavourite tunes? Contact me!

3. Help run our stall for part of the day! If you can, please tell me when you're available.

4. Volunteer to help run other activities. If you want to look after a segway or one of those electric buggies that drives around campus (this requires a driver's licence) or other incalculably cool things, contact Millie at millie.rooney at anu.edu.au
