Coring in clay

Dear all

I have had a query from Annabel Morris regarding coring in clay. She wishes
to extract a 2-3 m core from fairly stiff clays in saltmarsh.  ONe site
becomes dryish in summer  the other two unfortunately are remain covered in
1-2 m water throughout the year.  She has been told a vibracorer would be no
good. Obviously a d-section would also be useless. Any suggestions? IF you
do have any bright ideas, can you please email them to me (Annabel is
