Postdoctoral Fellowship/Climate Modeling and Analysis
The University of Texas Institute for Geophysics (UTIG) is
looking for an individual with a doctorate in atmospheric or
ocean science with strengths in the computational or more
quantitative aspects of climate modeling and analysis. Our
general focus is on evaluating the uncertainty of model
simulations of paleo or modern climate using statistical
methods to evaluate the match between observations and
model predictions. We are particularly interested in evaluating
how various observations provide constraints to our
understanding of the physics of climate as contained within
models of varying complexity. The fellowship is for two years
with an annual salary of 45k. Candidates should send a
curriculum vitae, including the names of three references with
mail and e-mail contact information, to: Dr. Charles Jackson,
Institute for Geophysics, 4412 Spicewood Springs Rd., Bldg.
600, Austin, TX 78759-8500. Applications will be reviewed
as they are received. If you have any questions, please e-mail
Charles at charles at ig.utexas.edu. More information about
UTIG can be found at http://www.ig.utexas.edu.
