PhD Scholarship in Environmental Geoscience
School of Environmental & Life Sciences
University of Newcastle

The Geology Discipline of the School of Environmental & Life Sciences 
invites applications for a PhD scholarship commencing in 2002. The 
scholarship is linked to a multi-disciplinary research project entitled: 
High-resolution palaeoenvironmental reconstruction of Holocene coastal 
valley evolution in NSW: A magnetic, geochemical, sedimentological and 
microfossil investigation.

The PhD will provide training in sedimentology, organic and inorganic 
geochemistry and environmental magnetism. Applicants should have first 
class or upper second class honours in a relevant area of geoscience.

Eligibility criteria: You must be an Australian citizen or a permanent 
resident of Australia and possess the minimum of an upper 2nd class honours 
degree.
