[Apologies for cross-posting.]

Dear Colleagues,

We have several well-funded RAships open for Ph.D. or M.S. students
interested in developing and analyzing tree-ring and sediment records of
past climate, fire, and vegetation at study sites in the southeastern and
western U.S.A., the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Experience
with tree rings, stable isotopes, pollen, charcoal, or other proxy
indicators of past environments would be a plus but is not essential for
these positions. For more information, please contact Dr. Henri
Grissino-Mayer (grissino at utk.edu), Dr. Sally Horn (shorn at utk.edu) or Dr.
Ken Orvis (orvis at utk.edu), all in the Department of Geography, University
of Tennessee (http://web.utk.edu/~utkgeog/).
