Subject: postdoctoral opportunity in Antarctic research
Postdoctoral opportunity. McMurdo Dry Valley's physical
limnology/sedimentology. Needed ASAP. Field-oriented person with broad
background to work on one or more projects in the McMurdo Dry Valleys
region of Antarctica. The research is both NSF and NASA funded, and the
person will be associated with the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term
Ecological Research project. The research focuses around two primary
themes: 1. Modern physical and biogeochemical processes in the perennially
ice-covered lakes, ice-sealed lakes, and kettle ponds and 2.
Paleoclimate/environment from multiproxy sediment core analysis. The
position will require travel to Antarctica for 2-3 months starting in
November of 2003. Ability to pass a rigorous medical examination is
