CRC LEME Regolith Geoscience coursework program 2004
Dear Colleagues,
The Australian Cooperative Research Centre for Landscape Environments and
Mineral Exploration (CRC LEME) is offering 6 Honours-level and 1
Masters-level shortcourses in regolith geoscience for mineral explorers,
natural resource managers and any student, academic or industry
professional working in or around the regolith. These courses are offered
under the auspices of the Minerals Council of Australia's Minerals Tertiary
Education Council (MTEC), which recognizes CRC LEME as Australia's premier
regolith geoscience research organization.
Courses commence on 23 February and include:
* Regolith Geology and Geochemistry (23-27 February, Wilsons
Promontory, Victoria), limited places available;
* Regolith Mapping and Field Techniques (15-19 March, Broken Hill, New
South Wales);
* Introduction to Hydrogeochemistry (29 March-2 April, University of
Melbourne);
* Advanced Remote Sensing for Mineral Exploration and Natural Resource
Management (13-16 April, University of Adelaide);
* Clay Mineralogy and Geophysics (27-28 April, University of Adelaide
*students only*);
* Environmental Mineralogy (21-25 June, Australian National University);
* Regolith Geology and Mineral Exploration Masters course (2-13 August,
Broken Hill, New South Wales), offered as part of the G3 Masters in
Economic Geology.
