Dear all.
Apologies if you have seen this before, but just to let you know that the
following are on...
Please circulate around to coworkers / students and anyone else that may be
interested...
8th Australasian Environmental Isotope Conference
The 8th Australasian Environmental Isotope Conference will be held in
Melbourne from Monday 29 November - Wednesday 1 December 2004. This is the
latest in a long-running series of conferences dedicated to the application
of stable and radiogenic isotopes to studies of environmental processes.
As with previous conferences in this series, we invite presentations on
applications of stable, radiogenic, and cosmogenic isotopes to
understanding the natural environment. Topics include...
Climate and environmental change
Groundwater and surface water
Soils
Landscape evolution
Applications of cosmogenic isotopes
Dating
New analytical techniques and applications
Inaugural Australasian Hydrogeology Research Conference
The Australasian Hydrogeology Research Conference aims to bring together
groundwater researchers from diverse backgrounds. It will address current
research into hydrogeology in both natural and contaminated systems. Topics
include...
Hydrochemistry of groundwater systems
Recharge and discharge processes
Contaminant hydrogeology
Groundwater-surface water interaction
Modelling of hydrologic systems
Unsaturated zone hydrology
It will run from Wednesday 1 December - Friday 3 December 2004 and follow
on from the 8th Australasian Environmental Isotope Conference. By holding
the conferences together, the synergies between the two fields may be
better exploited.
Further information on both conferences can be found at:

Please e-mail either Ian Cartwright (ian.cartwright at sci.monash.edu.au) or
Tamie Weaver (tweaver at unimelb.edu.au) to express your interest in attending
either or both conferences. Further details regarding registration and
accommodation costs will be posted shortly. We are committed to
providing reasonably priced conferences with the view of
encouragingstudents and researchers on limited funds to be able to contribute.
