Project Manager
(Full-time (fixed-term))

The appointee will be based in the Department of Infrastructure,
Planning and Natural Resources office in Muswellbrook but will
employed by Macquarie University.  The primary role involves management and
integration of various inter-related research projects that relate
directly to a major river rehabilitation initiative in the Upper
Hunter Catchment near Muswellbrook, NSW.

The appointee will be required to oversee the management of the
research project; liaise with industry partners to ensure project
goals are met; facilitate and co-ordinate interaction among researchers;
co-ordinate field monitoring programs and project data management;
organise industry, research and community based workshops; maintain
and enhance revegetation program.

Essential Selection Criteria:  Degree in Environmental Science and/or
Resource and Environmental Management; excellent organisational and
communication skills; demonstrated experience in project management;
experience in financial management; experience in restoration ecology;
current Class C NSW driver's licence or equivalent.

Desirable Selection Criteria:  Experience in design and application of
river-related research; experience in cross-disciplinary work.

The position is available on a full-time (fixed-term) basis from June
2004 to December 2007 and may be subject to probationary conditions.

Salary Range: Level 7 - $62,188 - $66,986 pa, including base salary
$52,550 - $56,604 pa, annual leave loading and 17% employer's
superannuation.
