Dear Quaternarists,
At the recent AQUA Cradle Mountain conference there was general
interest in further developing Quaternary Australasia as an archive for
the publication of abstracts of Honours, Masters, and Doctoral theses
concerned with aspects of the Australasian Quaternary. Although thesis
abstracts have always been welcome in QA, the majority of abstracts are
never submitted by their authors (who sometimes have a tendency to
rapidly disappear overseas, or otherwise want never to see their thesis
again, once it has been handed in for examination); hence I encourage
supervisors to take an active role either by encouraging their students
to send their thesis abstracts to me, or, in cases where it seems
unlikely that the student will do so, by sending the abstracts
themselves (with the author's permission, of course).
There is still time to include in the upcoming issue of QA, abstracts
of theses completed within the past ~6 months, which are concerned with
any aspect of the Australasian Quaternary, and/or are concerned with
aspects of the Quaternary beyond Australasia, but which were produced
at an Australasian institution.
Cheers,
