Applications are invited for a continuing/tenured position of Lecturer
or Senior Lecturer in the area of Glaciology and Remote Sensing.
Applicants with research-level knowledge of Glaciology and Remote
Sensing, preferably with Antarctic and/or Arctic experience, will be
considered. Applicants should have a PhD, post doctoral experience and
evidence of teaching at the University level. They should have
demonstrated potential to be an excellent researcher and have high
research productivity with potential to lead new and innovative research
programmes. The appointee will be required to teach and co-ordinate
undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Glaciology and Antarctic
Studies, and to supervise graduate students. The successful applicant
should be able to inspire and motivate students. She or he will be
expected to publish regularly in high-impact journals and actively seek
funding in support of research. Participation in Antarctic fieldwork is
encouraged, with logistical support available on a competitive basis
from Antarctica New Zealand.
