Dear Quaternariasts/Geomorphologists

A reminder that the next conference of the Australia and New Zealand
Geomorphology Group Inc. is to be held at scenic Taipa Bay in far Northland,
New Zealand: February 12 to 17, 2006. The second circular containing
information regarding the location of the meeting is available from either:

The ANZGG website: www.anzgg.org and/or: www.sges.auckland.ac.nz/anzgg_2006/

The second circular contains details of how to get there, accommodation,
fieldtrips, registration and abstract submission. Note that in keeping with
the ANZGG tradition, the meeting will be informal and operate as a single
session.

The following conference themes are planned:

1. Extreme events and tectonic geomorphology
2. Modelling and prediction in geomorphology
3. Timescales in landscape evolution
4. Morphodynamics

Sessions 1 and 3 will have a strong Quaternary focus.

Each theme will commence with a keynote address, and submitted abstracts that
fit the conference themes will be preferred. Papers that do not address the
conference themes will be included in general geomorphology sessions.

Important dates:
early bird Registration: November 15 2005
Abstract submission 15 November 2005

The 3rd circular with the list of sessions and papers will be available in mid
December.

Note also that the Australasian INTIMATE meeting is to be held in Auckland,
New Zealand on 10 and 11 February 2006 immediately prior to the start of the
ANZGG meeting at Taipa Bay.

yours sincerely

Paul Augustinus (on behalf of the ANZGG_2006 organising committee)
