For postgraduate students who are working on an ecology related topic for 
their thesis this source of funding (for travel/fieldwork up to $1000) 
might be of interest. You are required to be a member of the ESA.

Postgraduate Student Research Awards - closing date for applications - 27 
October 2006.

Postgraduate Students undertaking field work or other research-related 
travel may apply for a Student Research Award. The maximum individual award 
is $1000. To be eligible, applicants must be a member of the Society and 
not have previously won a research award from the Society.
