School of Human and Environmental Studies

The School of Human and Environmental Studies incorporates Geography, 
Planning, Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology and has a high 
reputation in both teaching and research. The School oversees UNE's 
Bachelor, Diploma and Masters of Urban and Regional Planning 
programs, which are accredited by the Planning Institute of Australia (PIA).

The School wishes to make the following appointments.


LECTURER IN PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY

We seek an effective team player who can develop the role of physical 
geography in its own right and complement and strengthen our existing 
programs in the School's disciplinary areas. In particular, the 
appointee will teach into one of Australia's leading urban and 
regional planning programs and a new Bachelor of Archaeology.  The 
successful applicant will conduct teaching and research in one or 
more of the following areas: geomorphology, climate change, 
quaternary environments, biogeography, or environmental science.

Applicants will:  have a PhD (or have submitted a PhD thesis) in 
physical geography; be research active relative to opportunity; have 
a capacity for, and commitment to, the development and delivery of 
high quality coursework curricula; and show success at undergraduate teaching.

Salary:                  $63,247 to $74,958 per annum (Lecturer)
plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
