Dear fellow Quaternarists,
I would like to introduce myself as the new Editor of Quaternary
Australasia. We are planning a bumper issue of Quaternary Australasia to
come out in time for INQUA, and will have copies available to the
international participants in Cairns. I'm hoping the issue will inform the
Quaternary world about the active community in this region.
I would like to solicit contributions for this issue. This can include
reports, interviews, and thesis abstracts. I'm also hoping to include some
short research papers. Quaternary Australasia has in the past provided an
excellent forum for students in particular to have their work published,
and I am hoping that this particular issue, which will have a wider than
usual distribution thanks to INQUA, will provide an incentive for people
(especially students) to consider QA. QA is suitable for a paper of
national or local importance that may not be suitable for an international
audience. Papers published in QA are peer-reviewed and count as
publications for the purposes of the ARC. It is an ideal place to publish a
paper quickly to improve your track record for an ARC or job application.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you would be interested in
contributing, or if you know of any students (including recently completed
Honours students) who may not be aware of QA and could be encouraged to
submit their work. Likewise, if anyone would like to publicise any of their
recently published papers or books, please let me know.
Thanks,
Kat Fitzsimmons.
