[Aqualist] Tsunami Session at the XVII INQUA 2007 Congress - abstracts invited

You are invited to submit abstracts for the "Geological records of tsunami"
session to be held at the XVII INQUA Congress, Cairns, Australia, 28 July - 3
August 2007. (http://www.inqua2007.net.au/ <http://www.inqua2007.net.au/>  )

Convenors: Dale Dominey-Howes (Macquarie University, Australia), Amy
Prendergast (Geoscience Australia)

Keynote speaker: Prof Alastair Dawson (University of Aberdeen, Scotland )

The session is intended to provide an opportunity to allow marine and coastal
geologists, geomorphologists, environmental scientists and others to discuss
advances in tsunami deposit research

Themes include:

*	Results of recent palaeotsunami and post-tsunami field studies
*	Distinguishing between tsunami and storm deposits in the geologic
record 
*	New techniques for investigating tsunami deposits 
*	Key questions for future palaeotsunami research 
*	The role of tsunami-deposit research in mitigating tsunami hazards

abstracts may be submitted at http://www.icms.com.au/inqua2007/abstract/

The deadline for abstract submission is 31st January 2007
