Lecturer in Geomorphology, Soil Geomorphology or Geoecology
(Full-time (continuing))

We seek applications to a position of Lecturer in the
Department. Particularly, we seek applicants with research expertise
in an area of Geomorphology, Soil Geomorphology, Geoecology or
related discipline with field-based observational skills and
laboratory-based analytical skills. A person who complements some of
the Department's strengths in geomorphology, soils, fluvial
processes, Quaternary studies and environmental quality is
sought. The Department has strong research links with the
multi-disciplinary University group in Climate Risk and hosts the
Natural Hazards Research Centre (Risk Frontiers).
The appointee will maintain an active research program, contribute to
the teaching of undergraduate units, in the classroom and in the
field, supervise postgraduate research students and undertake a share
of administrative tasks.
Essential Selection Criteria: A relevant doctoral degree; an
established research program (relative to opportunity) as
demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and competitive research
grants and a clear research program for the first few years of
appointment; capacity and willingness to teach undergraduate courses
in geomorphology, geoecology or related disciplines; ability and
willingness to contribute to the intellectual life of the Department;
commitment to working collegially with members of the Department and
University.
Desirable Selection Criteria: Research strength in geochemical,
geochronological and/or modelling methods; experience in university
teaching, including field-based teaching.

The position is available on a full-time (continuing) basis from
January 2008 and may be subject to probationary conditions. Selection
criteria must be addressed in the application.
Package: From $81,682 pa, including base salary (Level B) $69,022 to
$81,847 pa, annual leave loading and 17% employer's superannuation.

terms of the Macquarie University Enterprise Agreement 2006-2009. The
